I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#19573) who has worked as a trainee therapist in a clinical hospital setting in Greece and have been offering counselling services as a member of diverse mental health professional teams in the Vancouver metropolitan area.
While as a counselor I like to adopt an integrative approach in order to cater for the needs of every client, my area of expertise lies in Existential Analysis and Logotherapy (from the Greek ‘’Logos’’, translating to ‘’meaning’’). It is a school of psychology deeply rooted in philosophy, that focuses on empowering the individual to make genuine and authentic choices in their life and guiding them through the journey of finding meaning and fulfillment. It is a very versatile type of therapy that can be applied in multiple therapeutic contexts and can be specifically helpful for people struggling with depression, issues in interpersonal relationships, anxiety and existential concern/life crises.

I am registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (# 3112), and my journey in Clinical Counselling began with a master’s degree from UBC in the year 2013. Dedicated to my career in the field for over 15 years, my particular competency is in helping individuals work through the impact of childhood trauma. I also have extensive experience assisting immigrants in navigating the complexities of cross-cultural challenges.
Approach
Integrating well-established therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)/Radically Open DBT (RO DBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) etc, I also employ holistic lens that leverage the healing capabilities of somatic memories, visualization and drawing insights from dreams. Moreover, I apply Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) where relevant, to delicately deal with trauma. It is essential that my approach appreciates each client’s embedded life histories, aiding them as they work towards personal growth and break free from their struggles.
Specialization
While I work with all clients with various life challenges, I observe that my work resonates profoundly with adults dealing with the echoes of childhood trauma. My focus revolves around aiding individuals who still grapple with experiences of childhood trauma, assisting them to re-establish and cultivate a loving connection with their inner child, forging a foundation of lasting empowerment and independence. The gentle process of engaging with the inner child can lead to tremendous change, allowing clients to rediscover and recover their genuine core and address historic injuries. Our mutual goal in therapy is to build resilience and independence, creating a path where one can flourish in the face of adversity.

Ally was born and raised in North Vancouver, BC, and graduated from Mulgrave School with an IB diploma. For most of her life Ally has known she wanted to be a therapist, and in pursuit of that dream went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Ally began her career in the field of mental health in 2017 as a youth counsellor for the YMCA, where she supported at-risk teens. I enjoy working with individuals who feel lost, overwhelmed by life’s circumstances, and who are seeking support for internal and external change in their lives. This journey that you are on (or are on the verge of starting), can feel lonely or too much to take on by yourself at times, or it may even be too intimidating to know where to begin. If you can relate to this, then you’ve come to the right place. I believe that therapy should be a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental environment, where we can collaboratively explore your concerns in a way where you can feel supported, validated, and understood. I love holding a space for people to process their presenting concerns and make meaningful change in their lives in a supportive environment.
If you would like to connect and see if we are a good fit, please reach out to schedule an appointment. I offer a free initial consultation that you can book by following the link to my booking page.
Congratulations on taking the first step towards your therapeutic goals and I hope to have the privilege of connect with you!

(He/Him/His)
I first became interested in the field when I helped my son to overcome obstacles to reading, writing, and math. Following this experience, I worked in schools with Neurodivergent and Autistic learners for ten years. Wanting to go deeper, I did a master’s degree with a thesis focused on the importance of social-emotional needs to neurodivergent people’s healthy psychosocial development and became a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I took these insights and received government support to do Autism and Neurodiversity research at the doctoral level, which I am currently pursuing.
Approach
Everyone has a distinctive way of being in the world. I support clients with an unfolding exploration of their unique goals, how their perspectives influence their experiences, and how their strengths can be leveraged toward more fulfilling lives using proven strategies. To support clients with their goals, I use an approach that I call Neurodiverity Aware Therapy, which integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and other evidence-based modalities with an in-depth and always-growing knowledge of research in the field of Neurodiversity. I believe strongly in providing a strengths-based, self-esteem oriented, trauma-informed, and client-centred practice.
Specialization
My specialization is neurodiversity. Neurodivergent clients include people with anxiety or depression, people living with ADHD, OCD, Bipolar or Autism, and many others. What neurodiversity brings to counselling is an understanding that these conditions are differences, not deficits. Finding your strengths and learning how to overcome stigmatization and trauma are essential to greater self-understanding and life enrichment. As a Neurodivergent person, I have walked this path myself, and so it is with a deep sense of empathy that I walk alongside my clients on their own journeys.

My name is Tania (she/her)! I believe healing happens when we learn how to meaningfully re-integrate past wounds into the present without having to re-experience the past; in other words, no need to scratch old wounds, but let’s have a look at the scars from a safe distance and see what they are telling us. Healing/positive change also includes learning how to make healthier choices for yourself, understanding your own needs better, and creating healthier relationships with yourself and others. I have tools and strategies for getting there and we choose together how to explore these things. Ultimately, you’re in the driver’s seat and I’m here to help you reach your destination.
